Who am I?

In ancient times, bookkeeping used pebbles, also known as calculi, to track and record financial transactions. These pebbles represented units of value, allowing individuals to keep track of inventory, trade, and debts. This method, while primitive, laid the foundation for more sophisticated accounting systems.

Counting Pebbles Bookkeeping started in 2022 with over 20 years of prior experience in small business, governmental, and nonprofit bookkeeping and payroll.

The owner, Audrey Shutter, is a graduate of Central Pennsylvania College. After working for local government finance offices, corporate accounting, and staffing agencies for the better part of two decades, this business was developed after a wonderful 6 year experience as a food truck co-owner. While she loved the fast-paced life of the food truck industry, it was time for a change (and to have weekends off for her girls).
